Becoming a Registered Nurse (RN)
To become a Registered Nurse, a minimum of an associate’s degree in an accredited ASN program is required. Graduates of Justee college must complete each required course and meet each course’s minimum standards in addition to obtaining an overall CGPA of 2.75 or higher. Justee college RN students must pass the exit examination with the minimum passing score and be satisfied with all financial obligations.
RN students must also pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Once a passing score is received, students will obtain licensure in the state where they want to practice. Requirements vary by state, so learning state requirements is vital to becoming an RN.

Taking the NCLEX to Become an RN
To become an RN, an RN student must pass the NCLEX-RN exam, which requires ASN program completion. A registration fee is required to take the NCLEX-RN.

What is the difference between RN and LPN?
RNs and PNs (Practical Nurses) differ in various areas, including education, job responsibilities, and duties.
RN’s must take an Associate of Science in Nursing program, which takes two years. LPNs are only required to complete a state-approved program.
Education for an LPN typically takes about one year to complete. LPNs also have fewer school requirements. The additional education RNs receive is for them to go above LPN duties and beyond in providing primary care. LPNs work under RN supervision.
Registered nurses are expected to be more hands-on with doctors in developing patient care plans, assisting with patient care conditions, and managing other medical staff.
